who we are / our beliefs

what we believe

Welcome to Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church where we strive to be inclusive of all people and hope you can find a home. Our worship services are a blend of traditional and contemporary elements with music, prayer, study, scripture and fellowship. Please join us in person or online on Sunday mornings or whenever and from wherever it is convenient for you.

We are a congregation of believers committed to sharing the message of Christ and guiding others towards faith in Him. As a church, we aim to love those in our community with the same love Christ has given to us. The work of our church is aimed at directing others towards the Savior in the hopes that they will encounter the triune God and be transformed by God's gracious love for them. Through all we do, say, and preach, we pray that we will shine the light of Christ to all those we encounter.

Our Mission

follow Jesus, make disciples, transform the world

Our Vision

we worship: we engage in authentic worship

we grow: we participate in faith groups for bible study and spiritual formation

we serve: we actively serve our neighbors, community and world

God

We believe in God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ brings salvation to the whole world, including us.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and we interpret scripture through tradition, reason, and experience.

We believe that The Holy Spirit is God’s abiding presence with us, who leads us into deeper faith and restores creation.

The Christian Life

We believe that we are called to love God and neighbor through personal holiness and social action.

We believe that our United Methodist Church is a part of Christ’s universal Church and that we are united with other Christians around the world in the Body of Christ.

We believe that the Christian life is lived in community with others.

We believe that all people are of sacred worth, created in the image of God, and we support the full inclusion of all persons in the life of the church.

We believe that the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion are tangible means by which God’s real presence is given to us.
